Akatsuki: Hidan The Immortal

Hidan is a powerful ninja who left his village and joined a group called the Akatsuki. He worships a deity named Jashin. Even though he didn't get along well with his partner Kakuzu, they were assigned to work together. Among the Akatsuki members, Hidan was one of the newest, only joining shortly before another member named Tobi. Another member, Kisame Hoshigaki, jokingly called Hidan and Kakuzu the Zombie Combo because of their strange teamwork.

Background

When Hidan was young, he heard stories about the Valley of Hell and decided to visit it out of curiosity. He found the place smelly and covered in dead bodies, which surprised his fellow villagers who believed the corpses were just skeletons. This led to suspicion falling on Hidan, but an investigation revealed that it was actually the work of a clan. Frustrated with the transformation of his village into a tourist spot, Hidan believed that shinobi should be killers, so he killed his neighbors before joining a religious cult called Jashin. The cult believed in complete destruction, and through their secret technique, Hidan gained immortality. Yugakure requested that the Akatsuki deal with Hidan for his murderous actions, and he ended up joining the organization after a confrontation with Kakuzu. Together, they were assigned to capture the Two-Tails jinchūriki and later the Seven-Tails jinchūriki.

Personality

Hidan was known for his disrespectful and foul-mouthed behavior. He often used profanity and complained about everyone, including his allies and opponents. Despite being religious, he didn't show much respect towards others, except for his god, Jashin. He openly expressed his dislike for his partner Kakuzu, criticizing his blasphemy and love of money. Hidan believed that killing and violence were the true calling of shinobi and enjoyed torturing his enemies. He was infuriated by his village's move towards peace and disarmament and ended up killing his neighbors before joining the Akatsuki. Hidan's immortality made him arrogant, and he didn't care much about strategy in battles. Despite his unpleasant attitude, he showed respect towards those interested in Jashin and had some admiration for other religions.

Abilities

Hidan is a highly skilled shinobi who was too powerful for Yugakure to handle. His abilities caught the attention of the Akatsuki, and he joined their ranks. Together with his partner Kakuzu, they were able to defeat the jinchūriki of the Two-Tails and also defeated Asuma, a skilled ninja from Konohagakure.

Immortality

Hidan's main advantage is his immortality, which he gained through extensive experimentation with Jashinist techniques. He can survive almost any fatal injury or dismemberment, even retaining the ability to speak with his head cut off. However, his head needs to be connected to his body to control it, and Kakuzu helps reattach it when necessary. While he can withstand physical attacks, he still feels pain and takes pleasure in it. His immortality makes him an ideal partner for Kakuzu, who can unleash his destructive techniques without worrying about harming Hidan. Additionally, Hidan has impressive healing abilities, as shown by his rapid recovery from severe injuries sustained in battles against Asuma and Shikamaru. His wounds heal quickly, including crushed ribs, pierced legs, and multiple stab wounds. Even burn scars disappear within a few days.

Physical Prowess

Hidan is highly skilled in bukijutsu (weapon techniques) and wields a Triple-Bladed Scythe. He has exceptional control and aim with his weapon, making it difficult for opponents to predict its path. Hidan is agile and skilled at evading attacks, displaying acrobatic prowess and dexterity. He has great durability, stamina, and endurance, being able to withstand fatal injuries and battle for extended periods without fatigue. His immortal body is highly durable and can withstand almost any form of damage, except dismemberment. Despite severe injuries, Hidan can continue fighting and wielding his weapons. His durability is demonstrated by withstanding attacks that would normally maim others. He is virtually invulnerable to injuries that should incapacitate him.

Jujutsu

Hidan uses his weapon to acquire his opponent's blood and draws the Jashin symbol on the ground. This creates a link between him and his opponent, and when activated, Hidan transforms into a Grim Reaper-like figure. Any damage inflicted on Hidan is also inflicted on his opponent, making him like a living voodoo doll. Hidan enjoys toying with his victims and inflicting non-fatal injuries, relishing in their shared pain. To kill his opponent quickly, Hidan impales himself through the heart, causing their death as well. However, the curse has requirements and can be slow to employ. If Hidan is removed from the symbol, the link can be broken, but he can easily re-establish it by re-entering the symbol's borders.
