Akatsuki: White Zetsu The Chatterbox

White Zetsu, also known as Shiro Zetsu, was a member of Akatsuki and the counterpart to Black Zetsu. He fell victim to Kaguya Ōtsutsuki's Infinite Tsukuyomi and was later freed from the Demonic Statue of the Outer Path by Black Zetsu. Madara Uchiha then infused him with the DNA of Hashirama Senju.

Background

White Zetsu was originally a victim of Kaguya Ōtsutsuki's Infinite Tsukuyomi, transformed after being connected to the God Tree for years and stored inside the Demonic Statue of the Outer Path. When Madara Uchiha summoned the statue and infused it with Hashirama Senju's DNA, White Zetsu and the other victims were released. They were believed to be artificial humans created by the statue's chakra and DNA. White Zetsu and another Zetsu were assigned to look after Obito Uchiha during his rehabilitation, and they became friends. White Zetsu assisted Obito in various missions and provided telepathic guidance. When Madara was dying, he merged Black Zetsu into White Zetsu's right half, and later, White Zetsu accompanied Obito as they searched for Nagato, using Madara's identity.

Personality

White Zetsu, also known as "Chatterbox," had a playful and teasing personality similar to his clone siblings. He was seen as trustworthy and loyal, being entrusted with Akatsuki's secrets and knowledge of Madara's plan. He worked closely with Obito and believed in the goodness of Madara. White Zetsu served as a spy and hunter-nin for Akatsuki, able to control his body and participate in missions simultaneously. He had the unique ability to act as a lookout during tailed beast sealing rituals. When Akatsuki members died, Zetsu devoured their bodies to protect their secrets. He operated independently, moving between different locations and reporting directly to Pain and Obito.

Abilities

White Zetsu was not considered a frontline fighter and did not engage in direct battles. However, he had various supportive abilities that made him valuable to his allies and master.

Ninjutsu

White Zetsu had the ability to separate his body into two parts and communicate telepathically with Black Zetsu. They could also extend roots underground to stay connected over long distances. White Zetsu was capable of creating clones of himself that could absorb a person's chakra. These clones were formed by planting spores on individuals, which were undetectable to even highly skilled shinobi. Once activated, the spores would grow and restrict the movements of the affected individuals while absorbing their chakra. The clones could also transfer the stolen chakra to allies in need. Obito used this technique to monitor and support Sasuke by attaching spores to him.

Substitute Technique

White Zetsu possessed exceptional transformation abilities, allowing him to change his appearance and chakra to perfectly imitate other individuals, even using their tools. He could also mimic their known techniques by manipulating his chakra. While weaker than his targets, he primarily utilized this technique through his clones for deception, infiltration, and assassination purposes. The transformation would persist until White Zetsu chose to end it, even if he sustained severe damage or died. Despite not being a skilled combatant, White Zetsu demonstrated proficiency in adopting the personalities and strategies of his targets, creating a constant sense of paranoia among the Allied Shinobi Forces. However, his lack of knowledge in certain areas could be exploited, and those with the ability to sense negative emotions could discern his true intentions.

Nature Transformation

White Zetsu possessed a wide range of elemental transformations, including all five basic nature transformations as well as Yin and Yang Release. Due to his connection to the tree grown from Hashirama Senju's DNA, White Zetsu shared the same genetic material and chakra as Hashirama, enabling him to use Wood Release, although to a lesser extent. His notable technique, Mayfly, allowed him to merge with the ground and swiftly travel to different locations, making him an effective spy by erasing his presence and avoiding detection. However, his travel speed was not as fast as Obito's space-time travel.

Other Skills

White Zetsu, as a mutated human, had unique characteristics that set him apart from regular humans. He didn't require food or water and didn't need to perform normal bodily functions. He had the ability to consume individuals completely, which was often used to dispose of deceased Akatsuki members and allies while also replenishing his own chakra reserves. Additionally, being composed primarily of Hashirama Senju's cells, White Zetsu possessed remarkable regenerative abilities that allowed him to heal almost any injury without the need for hand seals. He could assist his companions by grafting his body parts onto them, granting them the same healing capabilities. In his role as a spy, White Zetsu had a warning system that enabled him to monitor a wide area.
