Seven Ninja Swordsmen of The Mist: Mangetsu Hozuki

Mangetsu Hōzuki, reputed as the Second Coming of the Demon, was a shinobi from Kirigakure's Hōzuki clan, and a member of the previous generation of the Seven Ninja Swordsmen of the Mist.

Background

Mangetsu and his brother Suigetsu aspired to join the Seven Ninja Swordsmen of the Mist and trained diligently for that purpose. Their dream drove them to undertake dangerous missions consistently. Mangetsu achieved his goal and became a member of the Seven Swordsmen, mastering the use of all seven swords. However, Mangetsu passed away prematurely, which appeared to dampen Suigetsu's enthusiasm for their shared dream.

Personality

As stated by Kisame Hoshigaki, Mangetsu was more humble and level-headed than his younger brother, Suigetsu.

Abilities

Mangetsu, a member of the powerful generation of the Seven Ninja Swordsmen of the Mist, was among the most formidable shinobi to emerge from Kirigakure. He demonstrated his mastery of Silent Killing during the battle with the Third Division of the Allied Shinobi Forces while employing the Hiding in Mist Technique. In the anime, he showcased his exceptional abilities by being the sole remaining member of the Seven Swordsmen after his six comrades were sealed, even without his sword.

Ninjutsu

Nature Transformation

As a member of the Hōzuki clan, Mangetsu possesses great skill in Water Release manipulation and has the unique ability to turn his body into liquid form. This allows him to freely manipulate water and perform various techniques associated with his clan. He is particularly adept at firing high-speed projectiles from his finger, indicating his proficiency in the clan's secret techniques.

Kenjutsu

Mangetsu was an exceptionally talented swordsman who earned a place among the esteemed Seven Ninja Swordsmen of the Mist. His younger brother, Suigetsu, regarded him as the "Second Coming of the Demon," highlighting his remarkable abilities. Mangetsu possessed incredible skill, power, and chakra, enabling him to wield all seven legendary swords of the swordsmen, including the renowned Samehada. His proficiency with the swords was evident as he was entrusted to carry them in a scroll until engaging in battle. Unfortunately, Mangetsu's untimely demise prevented him from fully mastering all of the swords.
