Tailed Beasts: Kurama The Nine Tails

Kurama, also called the Nine-Tails, was one of the nine powerful creatures known as tailed beasts. People saw Kurama as a dangerous monster and tried to use it for war. This made Kurama dislike humans. However, when Kurama was sealed inside Naruto Uzumaki, Naruto treated it with kindness and respect. Because of Naruto's influence, Kurama changed its perspective and decided to use its strength to help save the world.

Background

Centuries ago, a powerful ninja named Hagoromo Ōtsutsuki created nine creatures known as tailed beasts, including Kurama, the Nine-Tails. Hagoromo told the tailed beasts that they were connected and that one day they would come together again. Kurama gained a reputation as a destructive force that thrived on negative energy. During the founding of the shinobi villages, the Gold and Silver Brothers tried to capture Kurama but were swallowed by the fox. They survived by eating its flesh and gained some of its power. Later, Madara Uchiha controlled Kurama with his Sharingan and used it in a battle against Hashirama Senju. The battle created the Valley of the End. Mito Uzumaki became Kurama's first jinchūriki, sealing the fox within herself. Mito passed the responsibility to Kushina Uzumaki, who became Minato Namikaze's wife. Minato and Kushina had a son named Naruto, and on the night of his birth, Kurama was taken by Tobi. Minato saved Kushina and placed a seal on Tobi, freeing Kurama. However, the fox still held resentment towards Konoha and rampaged in the village. Minato teleported Kurama away and sealed its Yin half within himself, while the Yang half was sealed within Naruto. Kurama weakened the seal over the years, leaking chakra that enhanced Naruto's abilities. Additionally, Kurama's chakra was sealed within Sora by Kazuma, who had his own plans for its power.

Personality

Kurama, the Nine-Tails, was characterized as a snarky and cunning creature. It believed itself to be the strongest among the tailed beasts because of its nine tails, but its arrogance was met with disapproval from the other beasts. Kurama was often jealous when Naruto didn't use its power but recognized its limitations when facing the Ten-Tails and respected Hagoromo Ōtsutsuki. Kurama held deep-seated hostility towards humans due to centuries of mistreatment and considered itself the embodiment of hatred. However, after Naruto showed determination and promised to resolve its hatred, Kurama developed respect for him and began supporting him. Kurama formed a strong bond with Naruto, considering him a friend and having faith in his abilities. It even sacrificed itself for Naruto's sake. Kurama had a comical side, teasing Naruto and engaging in humorous interactions. Despite its initial fear, it eventually came to care for Naruto's family.

Abilities

Kurama was widely recognized as the strongest among the nine tailed beasts. Its power was so great that Hashirama Senju believed it needed to be controlled. Even with just half of its power, Kurama was strong enough to defeat five other tailed beasts simultaneously. After the Fourth Shinobi World War, Kurama regained its full power when its two halves reunited inside Naruto. With this restored power, Kurama could defeat formidable enemies like Toneri's giant golem, Momoshiki Ōtsutsuki's elemental construct, and even overwhelm Isshiki Ōtsutsuki. Kurama later gained the ability to manifest itself separately from Naruto, allowing them to fight independently.

Chakra and Physical Prowess

Kurama possessed an immense amount of powerful chakra, even among the tailed beasts. Its chakra reserves were so vast that it needed to be sealed last into the Demonic Statue of the Outer Path to prevent overloading it. Kurama's chakra could be shared with others, such as the Allied Shinobi Forces, and its presence could be felt across great distances. When used by others, Kurama's chakra formed a protective shroud. Kurama had various modes that enhanced its power, such as the Nine-Tails Chakra Mode and the powerful Baryon Mode, which consumed its chakra to generate a new type of energy. Kurama possessed immense brute strength, capable of causing tsunamis and flattening mountains. It could overpower controlled tailed beasts, break through powerful defenses, and withstand attacks from powerful opponents. Additionally, Kurama demonstrated speed and durability in battle.

Ninjutsu

As a tailed beast, Kurama possessed powerful abilities. It could create a Tailed Beast Ball, a destructive attack that could be fired as a beam or rapid blasts. Kurama had the unique ability to supercharge the Tailed Beast Ball, making it much larger and more powerful. With this attack, Kurama could counter the combined Tailed Beast Balls of multiple tailed beasts. At full power, Kurama's Tailed Beast Ball was strong enough to launch Toneri's giant golem through the moon and into orbit. Kurama could also create destructive shockwaves, capable of dispersing a massive Rasengan, knocking back multiple tailed beasts, and destroying entire city blocks. It had exceptional sensor skills, able to detect chakra from long distances and sense negative emotions. Kurama could also utilize Wind and Fire Release nature transformations, generating twisters and breathing fire.

Intelligence

Kurama was a clever and strategic fighter. It used Naruto's body to outsmart Obito by tricking him into absorbing Kakashi into another dimension, leaving Obito vulnerable to counterattacks. Kurama also demonstrated strong leadership skills, calmly guiding its allies on how to effectively battle the Ten-Tails. In the anime, it showed knowledge of fūinjutsu, understanding the nature and weaknesses of the seal that bound it inside Naruto. Furthermore, Kurama had an advanced understanding of nuclear physics, particularly the process of nuclear fusion that takes place in the Sun.
