Kurotsuchi is a female ninja from Iwagakure. She is the granddaughter of the Third Tsuchikage and is also related to the First Tsuchikage. When her grandfather retired, she became the Fourth Tsuchikage, which means she took on the important role of leading her village.

Background

In the animated series, a young Kurotsuchi saw Deidara, who was a member of the Akatsuki, run away from their village after causing explosions.

Personality

Kurotsuchi is a calm and laid-back person who is fiercely loyal to her village. She is more interested in eliminating the jinchūriki of the Eight-Tails and Nine-Tails than protecting them, believing it would make Iwagakure stronger than its rival villages. Despite constant arguments, she cares for her comrades and was willing to fight for them. Kurotsuchi takes after her audacious and sarcastic grandfather, often teasing him about his age. She can be immature at times, but she hides it. She is confident in her abilities and can be arrogant. As the Fourth Tsuchikage, she has become more serious and strict, harshly criticizing failures. She takes great pride in her title and is willing to defend the honor of the Kage. Kurotsuchi prioritizes the prosperity of Iwagakure above all else and is willing to jeopardize relationships with other villages and invade neighboring countries to follow the orders of the Earth Daimyō, although she feels uncomfortable and sad about it. She believes that peace may not last forever, as future generations may not value it. Despite this, she respects the alliance between villages and stood her ground against her grandfather's plan to build a private army.

Kurotsuchi is a skilled female ninja who was selected to protect the Third Tsuchikage and support Genbu during the Kage Summit. She gained fame during the Fourth Shinobi World War for her bravery in facing a large number of Zetsu without hesitation. Her exceptional abilities and contributions led to her appointment as the Fourth Tsuchikage in the future.

Kurotsuchi is skilled in Earth, Fire, and Water Release techniques. With Earth Release, she can create a strong rock dome, hide underground, and launch sharp spikes at her enemies. She can also manipulate the earth to create pillars and defeat multiple foes. By combining her earth and fire chakra, she can use Lava Release. She can create quicklime to attack opponents and harden it like cement with her Water Release. Additionally, she can expel ash to restrain opponents. Over time, she mastered Lava Release and has also shown the ability to use Yin Release.

Kurotsuchi is skilled in deceptive combat tactics, as she was able to trick Kabuto into falling into a trap. In the animated series, she has shown proficiency in swordsmanship and hand-to-hand combat, defeating multiple clones of Naruto. She is also highly agile and quick to react, as demonstrated in her fight against Ganryū and his subordinates. Kurotsuchi possesses impressive physical strength, as she could send Kinshiki flying with a single punch. According to the novel based on the Boruto movie, she is considered the most skilled in genjutsu among the five current Kage.
