Itachi's Jutsus in Naruto Series

Sharingan

The Sharingan is a special eye power that exists within the Uchiha clan. It is considered one of the three great eye techniques, along with the Byakugan and Rinnegan. The Sharingan provides two main abilities: the Eye of Insight, which allows the user to see and understand things more clearly, and the Eye of Hypnotism, which allows the user to manipulate and control others. These abilities can be further enhanced with both eyes together. Additionally, there are two advanced jutsu associated with the Sharingan: Izanagi, which can alter reality temporarily, and Izanami, which traps the target in an endless loop. However, using these jutsu comes at a cost, as it leads to the blindness of the Sharingan.

Genjutsu: Sharingan

Genjutsu: Sharingan refers to a variety of genjutsu techniques performed using the Sharingan eye. It can also be used with advanced forms of the Sharingan, such as the Mangekyō Sharingan and the Rinnegan. By making eye contact, the user can trap the target in a genjutsu for different purposes. These include briefly incapacitating or paralyzing the target, extracting information forcefully, sharing or erasing memories, dispelling genjutsu cast by others, and controlling the target's actions.

Demonic Illusion: Mirage Crow

This genjutsu is a strong illusion that can trap someone without needing eye contact, although direct eye contact can still be used. When activated, the genjutsu creates a swarm of crows that overwhelms the opponent, giving the user complete control over them.

Demonic Illusion: Mirror Heaven and Earth Change

When the user is targeted with a genjutsu, they quickly use their Sharingan to decode and understand the genjutsu's workings. Then, they cast the same genjutsu back at their attacker, resulting in a "genjutsu reversal." This reversed genjutsu mainly causes mental harm, as most genjutsu are meant to confuse and disorient their victims. The success of the reversed genjutsu depends on the user's strength compared to their attacker and whether the attacker possesses any special abilities of their own.

Demonic Illusion: Shackling Stakes Technique

To use this technique, the user needs to have the Genjutsu: Sharingan. They ensnare the opponent in an illusionary world where they experience the feeling of spikes piercing through their body, leaving them unable to move. This technique is mainly used for torture, as the victim also feels real physical pain along with the illusion.

Izanami

The Izanami is a powerful dōjutsu used by the Uchiha clan. It is a genjutsu that affects the target by manipulating shared physical sensations between the user and the target. However, using Izanami comes at a cost. The Sharingan that casts Izanami becomes permanently blind and loses its light. Itachi explains that Izanami and Izanagi are a pair of techniques, but while Izanagi can change destiny, Izanami is a technique that "decides" destiny instead.

Mangekyō Sharingan

The Mangekyō Sharingan is an advanced form of the Sharingan that is awakened by Uchiha clan members during traumatic experiences. Both eyes may have different abilities, and awakening both eyes allows the user to perform Susanoo. Overuse of the Mangekyō Sharingan can lead to blindness, but it can be restored by transplanting the eyes of an Uchiha sibling, resulting in the Eternal Mangekyō Sharingan. This advanced form allows the user to retain their original techniques and eliminates negative side effects.

Tsukuyomi

Tsukuyomi is a powerful genjutsu technique associated with the Mangekyō Sharingan. Itachi Uchiha can trap his target in an illusion of his choosing by making eye contact. Within this illusion, Itachi has the ability to manipulate the target's perception of time, subjecting them to intense and painful experiences that feel like days of torture in just a few seconds. The illusions of Tsukuyomi are often depicted as gray-scale with a red moon in the sky. It is an exceptionally difficult genjutsu to counter, as it works quickly and bypasses normal defense methods. However, using Tsukuyomi drains a significant amount of Itachi's chakra and strains his eyes. Victims of Tsukuyomi are rendered comatose once the illusion is completed, and only highly skilled Sharingan users have a chance of breaking free from its influence.

Amaterasu

Amaterasu is a powerful ability in the Naruto series. It is a special eye technique called Mangekyō Sharingan and is associated with the element of Fire. Amaterasu creates black flames that cannot be easily avoided. These flames burn everything they touch, including other fires, until only ash remains. They are extremely hot and nearly impossible to extinguish. The user can control the flames and surround themselves with them as a defensive measure. However, using Amaterasu puts a strain on the user, causing their eyes to bleed. The flames can be sealed or countered by specific methods, but they are generally a fearsome and unstoppable force.

Transcription Seal: Amaterasu

This technique seals the Amaterasu technique inside another person's Sharingan. Once sealed, it is automatically activated when the person's eye sees a specific target chosen by the user. This activation is indicated by the person's Sharingan taking the appearance of the sealer's Mangekyō Sharingan.

Susanoo

Susanoo is a powerful ability used by members of the Uchiha Clan who have awakened the Mangekyō Sharingan in both eyes. It is a giant humanoid figure made of the user's chakra that surrounds and fights on their behalf. When activated, Susanoo acts as an extension of the user's will, providing defense against physical attacks. However, it can still be penetrated by certain types of attacks like visual or auditory ones. Susanoo consumes a large amount of the user's chakra and causes pain throughout their body. It can be repaired by advancing its developmental stage or by dispersing and reforming it. Itachi Uchiha's Susanoo had different forms, including a skeletal form with a curved blade and an armoured form wielding a shield and a sword. It also had long-range attack capabilities.

Susanoo: Fist

The user can create a partially transformed Susanoo arm that has the power to break walls or push away big opponents.

Yasaka Magatama

Yasaka Magatama is a technique available to Susanoo users, which can be performed using any of its hands. Similar to a spinning shuriken, it rapidly rotates towards the target and causes an explosion upon impact. The size of the projectiles can vary depending on the user, with smaller ones often used in close combat or tight spaces.

Sword of Totsuka

The Sword of Totsuka, also known as the Sakegari Longsword, is a special version of the Sword of Kusanagi. It is kept inside a sake jar, and its blade is formed by the liquid released from the jar. This ethereal sword has a magical blade that can seal anyone it pierces into a perpetual genjutsu-like state known as the "world of drunken dreams." The Sword of Totsuka can also cut through objects like a regular blade, giving the wielder great versatility in their attacks. It is a highly sought-after weapon, and when combined with the Yata Mirror, Itachi's Susanoo becomes nearly invincible.

Yata Mirror

The Yata Mirror is a mystical shield that can change its form and properties at will. It has the ability to counter any type of attack, whether it is spiritual or physical. It is said that the Yata Mirror possesses all nature transformations, allowing it to nullify incoming attacks by altering its nature. Black Zetsu stated that when combined with the Sword of Totsuka held by Itachi's Susanoo, the Yata Mirror made the Susanoo invincible.

Clone Great Explosion (A)

The user makes a copy of themselves, called a shadow clone, and tricks their opponents into attacking it up close. After some time, the clone explodes, causing a big explosion. If the opponents realize it's a clone, they can escape before it detonates. So, it's important for the user to hide the clone's true nature and intentions to increase the chances of catching their opponents off guard.

Crow Clone Technique (C)

This technique creates a clone by using chakra to control a group of crows. It requires less chakra compared to the regular Shadow Clone Technique but still allows the clone to perform jutsu. The crows come together to form the clone's body, and if the clone is dispersed, the same crows can quickly form a new clone. Even after the clone is defeated, the crows can regroup to create another clone or be used to blind the opponent, giving an opportunity for a counter-attack. The user can still communicate through the clone even if their chakra connection is cut.

Summoning Technique (Crow) (C)

The Summoning Technique allows users to bring a target to their location. To summon an animal, the user applies their blood to the hand that has the contract. They usually bite their finger and press their hand on the ground while channeling chakra to summon the animal. The amount of chakra determines the size and number of animals summoned.

Early Sacrifice

Itachi performs a maneuver where he leaps over his opponent and maintains balance on their shoulder, which helps him avoid any incoming attacks. After landing, he swiftly throws the opponent over his own body, slamming them onto the ground.

Ephemeral

Itachi uses this technique to cast a genjutsu on his opponent by channeling it through his finger. The genjutsu starts when he activates the technique. It seems that this additional stage of the genjutsu was triggered by Itachi after he performed a specific hand seal, and the same effect applies to his use of shuriken.

Fire Release: Great Fireball Technique (C)

The user gathers chakra in their body and transforms it into fire, which they release from their mouth. The amount of chakra determines the size of the flames produced. Sometimes the flames appear as a continuous stream, while other times they form into a large ball that maintains its shape until it hits a target. The impact of the fireball is powerful enough to create craters and vaporize the surrounding area. When used against living targets, the fireball can cause severe burns. The Uchiha clan developed this technique and it has become one of their signature abilities.

Fire Release: Phoenix Sage Fire Technique (C)

The user shoots multiple fireballs into the air, creating the illusion that there is only one fireball that then splits into many. These small flames move unpredictably, surrounding and potentially captivating the targets. The user manipulates each flame using their chakra, guiding them towards the intended target, making it challenging to dodge. Additionally, shuriken can be concealed within the flames, increasing their lethality upon impact. By controlling the movements of the flames, the user can also control the direction and trajectory of the hidden shuriken.

Fire Release: Phoenix Sage Flower Nail Crimson (B)

The user throws a group of shuriken while exhaling chakra-infused fire onto them. This enhances the shuriken's power, allowing them to cause severe burns when they hit the target or any object in their path. Since the flames are fueled by chakra, they continue to burn even if the object they strike is not normally flammable.

Water Release: Water Bullet Technique

It is a flexible and adaptable Water Release jutsu that comes in different forms. By gathering chakra in their stomach, the user releases a strong and forceful stream of water towards their target. This technique can be used in cooperation with others to make it more powerful and cover a wider area.

Water Release: Water Dragon Bullet Technique (B)

The user shapes water into the form of a dragon and directs it towards a target. The dragon made of water hits the target with force, causing substantial physical damage. It is best if the user can utilize existing water sources for this technique, but skilled users can create the water themselves and release the dragon by spitting it out. The more skilled the user, the larger the dragon can be as they can gather more water.

Water Release: Water Fang Bullet (B)

The user creates compact and highly pressurized water projectiles underwater. These projectiles are then shot at high speeds towards the target, and their lethality can be increased by adding a spinning motion. This technique is particularly advantageous in water-based battles as the projectiles can be launched from any direction, including blind spots. Users often try to distract their targets before using this technique or use it as a distraction itself.
