Ten Tails The One Eyed God
The Ten-Tails is the result of Kaguya Ōtsutsuki and the God Tree merging together. It was created to retrieve the chakra that her sons, Hagoromo and Hamura, inherited. This creature is considered the source of all chakra and is closely connected to the Sage of Six Paths and the origin of shinobi. To stop its destructive rampage, the Sage became the Ten-Tails' jinchūriki and later divided its chakra into the nine tailed beasts to prevent further harm. Many years later, Madara and Obito Uchiha aimed to revive the Ten-Tails and become its jinchūriki for their own purposes.
Background
In a time of constant wars, the God Tree, a revered tree, produced a chakra fruit every thousand years. The Ōtsutsuki clan planted the seedling of the Ten-Tails to drain all chakra from the planet and harvest its fruit. Princess Kaguya Ōtsutsuki ate the forbidden fruit and used its power to bring an end to the wars. She later combined with the God Tree, becoming the Ten-Tails and causing havoc. Kaguya's sons, Hagoromo and Hamura, sealed the Ten-Tails into the moon and divided its chakra among themselves. Hagoromo became the first jinchūriki and was known as the "Sage of Six Paths." Before her sealing, Kaguya created Black Zetsu to aid in her revival. Centuries later, Black Zetsu orchestrated events to awaken the Rinnegan in Madara Uchiha, who planned to use the Ten-Tails to carry out the Eye of the Moon Plan.
Personality
Kurama stated that the Ten-Tails cannot be detected through methods like sensing emotions because it lacks its own feelings and beliefs. However, when it sensed the chakra of the tailed beasts within Naruto and was reminded of Hagoromo, it reacted by gathering chakra and becoming stronger. Initially, it was believed that the Ten-Tails was a manifestation of the God Tree seeking to retrieve the chakra Kaguya had taken, but in reality, it was following Kaguya's desires to reclaim all chakra for herself.
Abilities
The Ten-Tails is considered the creator of everything in the world and possesses immense power. It has the ability to devour oceans, split land, and move mountains. Kurama acknowledged that facing the Ten-Tails alone would be futile, and according to the Sage of Six Paths, its revival would bring about the end of the world. Traditional sensing methods are ineffective against the Ten-Tails as it emits the same energy as the natural world and can manipulate it. Naruto's attempt to measure its power using Sage Mode proved overwhelming, with Kurama stating that the beast's strength was immeasurable. Gyūki warned that the Ten-Tails would be invincible if it reached its final form.
Chakra and Physical Prowess
The Ten-Tails is the origin of all chakra and possesses immense power that can bring devastation to the world. It has an abundance of overwhelming chakra reserves, allowing it to survive even after the death of its host. To contain its power, the Ten-Tails' chakra was divided into the nine tailed beasts. As the Ten-Tails transforms, its chakra increases significantly, causing visible changes in its surroundings. The beast possesses incredible physical strength and surprising speed, catching Naruto and Killer B off guard. It can easily deflect powerful attacks and create destructive shockwaves with its immense size and strength. The Ten-Tails is highly durable, enduring its own explosive attacks without significant harm. It is also resistant to elemental attacks, such as wind-enhanced black flames. In its second form, the beast breaks free from restraints and can extend its tails to attack from a distance.
Ninjutsu
The Ten-Tails, as the original tailed beast, has the power to create and unleash devastating Tailed Beast Balls. In its first form, the ball takes the form of a continuous beam, overpowering attacks from other tailed beasts. As it matures into its second form, the Ten-Tails' Tailed Beast Ball becomes conical in shape, gaining increased range, speed, and destructive power. It can target and destroy objects and locations from great distances, obliterating mountains and entire cities with a single shot. In its further developed stages, the Ten-Tails can unhinge its jaw, unleashing a cannon-like appendage that fires massive and incredibly powerful Tailed Beast Balls, capable of distorting even strong defensive formations. The beast's roar can trigger natural disasters across the continent, and it has the ability to manipulate and regenerate its own body, regrowing lost limbs and forming additional hands to capture enemies. It can also generate various beings from its body to aid in defense, some with weapon-like appendages.
Other Skills
In its final form, the Ten-Tails, through the God Tree, possesses roots that can extend and capture even large enemies like tailed beasts, absorbing their chakra and rapidly turning humans into lifeless bodies. The jinchūriki of the Ten-Tails can manipulate these roots into various shapes, including enormous wooden dragons. When the bud at the top of the tree blossoms, revealing an eye, it enables the activation of the Infinite Tsukuyomi, a powerful genjutsu. The time it takes for the bud to fully bloom depends on the amount of tailed beasts' chakra available, but it can be expedited by absorbing more chakra. Individuals trapped in the Infinite Tsukuyomi and connected to the tree's roots gradually lose their sense of self over many years, eventually transforming into White Zetsu, devoid of their original identities.
Control
Madara and Obito were able to control the Ten-Tails in its initial form by connecting themselves to tendrils that emerged from its head. However, to have better control over the beast in its second form, they had to strengthen their connection by using Hashirama Senju's cells. Madara believed that controlling the Ten-Tails in its subsequent forms would require becoming its jinchūriki. When linked to the Ten-Tails, Obito could manipulate its body to create wooden spikes. A person with the Rinnegan can become the Ten-Tails' jinchūriki by using the Six Paths Ten-Tails Coffin Seal, gaining access to the Six Paths Senjutsu and ten Truth-Seeking Balls. However, if the jinchūriki lacks the mental strength to control the beast's power, they may suffer a mental breakdown, allowing the Ten-Tails to influence their actions. Removing the chakra of the nine tailed beasts from the Ten-Tails' jinchūriki does not put their life at risk since the Demonic Statue of the Outer Path's strong life force will keep them alive, albeit in a near-death state and paralyzed for several months.
