Kage: Yagura Karatachi The Fourth Mizukage

Yagura Karatachi was the host of the Three-Tails, Isobu, and also served as the Fourth Mizukage of Kirigakure. He is mostly remembered for his cruel and oppressive rule, which led to Kirigakure being infamous as the "Bloody Mist."

Background

As a child, Yagura was forced to participate in a brutal ritual where Academy students had to kill each other to graduate. Later, the Three-Tails was revived and sealed within Yagura, granting him control over its powers. As the jinchūriki, he became the Fourth Mizukage and united the islands of the Land of Water. Yagura fought against members of Akatsuki but was immobilized by Itachi Uchiha. Yagura was then manipulated by a masked man claiming to be Madara Uchiha, which led to a tyrannical reign and Kirigakure being known as the "Village of the Bloody Mist." Many believed Yagura was being controlled, and Zabuza Momochi led a failed coup against him. Eventually, Tobi's hold over Yagura was broken, leading to his death. Yagura had a child who later had Kagura.

Personality

Yagura had a formal and diplomatic demeanor, representing the jinchūriki and tailed beasts with composure. However, he could also be defensive and exuberant, as shown when he got frustrated with Naruto's assumptions about him and his age. Yagura took pride in his role as a Mizukage and considered himself distinguished. He had a talkative and curious side, as seen when he asked Naruto about kissing Sasuke, although it seemed to be more mocking than genuine curiosity. However, during his time as Mizukage under Tobi's genjutsu, Yagura became a tyrant who instilled fear in the village. He committed crimes and showed no mercy to those he deemed traitors. In battle, he was ruthless and direct, swiftly entering Version 2 to defeat his opponents.

Abilities

Yagura, as the Fourth Mizukage, was the most powerful shinobi in his village. He achieved mastery over Isobu's power and became a skilled jinchūriki. In the anime, he displayed his strength by fighting Itachi and Jūzō from Akatsuki, defeating the latter and almost defeating the former. Yagura was proficient in bōjutsu, using a club with uneven hooks to fend off attacks. After being resurrected, he possessed both the Sharingan and Rinnegan, enhancing his combat abilities with enhanced perception and a shared field of vision. Yagura, like other Kage, could also use the Summoning Technique, although the specific creatures he could summon remain unknown.

Ninjutsu

Nature Transformation

Yagura had a unique ability to combine his large club with Water Release ninjutsu. He could create water mirrors using his club, and by rotating the mirror, he could make reflections appear and materialize from the mirror. These reflections would then collide with the mirrored targets, successfully repelling any attacks. Regardless of the type of attack, the reflections would use the same technique as their counterparts. However, upon contact, the reflections would disperse into water. Additionally, in the anime, Yagura displayed proficiency in Wind Release and could use a powerful gust to quickly dispel thick fog.

Jinchūriki Transformations

As the jinchūriki of the Three-Tails, Yagura gained a substantial amount of chakra and stamina from the beast, allowing him to display full control over its powers. He could partially transform into the Three-Tails, manifesting one of its tails, and even enter the Version 2 form to escape from dangerous situations. In this form, he could unleash the Tailed Beast Ball, a powerful technique of the Three-Tails. Yagura also possessed the ability to use Coral Palm, causing corals to grow and immobilize his opponents. When forced to transform into his full Three-Tails form, he could move with great speed and force by curling himself up into a ball. Despite being injured by Amaterasu, Yagura demonstrated his resilience and formidable power in his transformed state.
