Kage: Gengetsu Hozuki The Second Mizukage

Gengetsu Hōzuki was part of the Hōzuki family and became the Second Mizukage of Kirigakure.

Background

Gengetsu and the Second Tsuchikage had a strong dislike for each other and their feud led to their ultimate fight where they both died. Gengetsu also used to bully Ōnoki when they were kids.

Personality

Gengetsu Hōzuki is a laid-back and cheerful person, but he can also be a bit of a bully. He gets excited by powerful attacks, like when he saw Gaara's sand attack, and he admits to teasing Ōnoki when they were young. Despite this, Gengetsu is charismatic and likes shinobi who show potential, regardless of their village or age. He often forgets important events, like when he forgot he and Mū killed each other and needed Mū to remind him. Gengetsu cares about the fate of his fellow Kirigakure shinobi and tries to guide them when he is resurrected. He values honor and reprimands Mū for considering underhanded tactics after the war. Gengetsu has a short temper, especially when it comes to Mū and their rivalry. He dislikes Mū's selfishness and criticizes him for suggesting to Ōnoki to take advantage of the disbanding of the Allied Shinobi Forces. He also admires Gaara and challenges him to prove his worth by dealing with his own clones.

Abilities

As the Second Mizukage, Gengetsu was incredibly strong and considered the most powerful shinobi in his village during his time. He had the ability to defeat even the Second Tsuchikage, although it resulted in his own death. Despite revealing his weaknesses and holding back, none of the Fourth Division members could overcome his techniques, and he easily defeated many of them. Gengetsu was also skilled in hand-to-hand combat, as he defeated a group of shinobi with just one kick. He was strong enough to break free from Gaara's sand despite being sealed. Additionally, Gengetsu possessed a special ability called kekkei genkai, although the details of this ability are unspecified.

Ninjutsu

Nature Transformation

Gengetsu was skilled in various elemental techniques including Water, Fire, Lightning, and Earth Release, as well as Yin and Yang Release. His strongest element was Water Release, which allowed him to transform his body into liquid and solid forms at will. He could shoot powerful water bullets from his index fingers that could easily pierce through solid objects. In addition, Gengetsu could create water bubbles that moved with great speed and force. He also had a unique substance in his body that Gaara described as more like oil than water. This substance could seep into and destroy Gaara's sand, enabling him to escape from restraints. Gengetsu could use this substance to create a clone of himself made of water and surrounded by a thin layer of oil. The clone would expand and explode due to the steam pressure inside, creating hail and reforming the clone to repeat the process again and again. This technique was known as Gengetsu's infinite explosion ninjutsu.

Summoning Technique

Gengetsu had the ability to summon a Giant Clam to help him in battles. He was skilled in Yin Release genjutsu and used it in combination with the mist produced by the clam when it opened its shell. This allowed him to create illusions that made it difficult for opponents to determine his actual location. The mirages were incredibly realistic and confusing, even though Gengetsu explained the technique to his enemies. The only way to break free from the illusion was to destroy the real clam.
